I'm still alive!

Oh, I am miserably behind on getting my photos up, but I'm going to try and do that very soon. I promise!

1.29.09

Another shot of Camden in motion, but at least I can use this one for blackmail purposes when he gets older. Think his teenage buddies would give him a hard time about playing on his sister's Disney princess hopscotch? ;)

1.28.09

Winter came and stayed for less than 12 hours. We got a small ice storm that left a few "icebergs", as Emma called them, hanging from old planters, trees, house eaves and rooftops.

1.27.09

Fresh from the tub, something on the TV caught Emma's eye and as you can see, she was totally oblivious to anything going on around her. I just love her big, beautiful eyes!

1.26.09

If I had taken this picture around Halloween I might have been seriously creeped out. The weather on Monday night was really eerie. It was very foggy and muggy, strange for January.

Isn't it just amazing what a haircut can do to the way someone looks? Especially when I'm talking about my kiddos. Grammie was a hairdresser for 30+ years and so she has always cut the kids hair, but our little man just refused to sit still for her yesterday. So, he wound up with a pretty choppy cut from a slip with the clipper because he was so wiggly. End result, we took Camden to get his first in a salon today in hopes that he would sit still for them and we could repair the damage. Of course, I took pictures of the event, but I also cried as his beautiful red hair fell to the floor. The final look is still a little short on top for me, but he sure is cute and awfully proud of his new 'do!

1.24.09

Khalil's big construction project at work has gone to 6 days a week so he won't be able to come home on the weekends anymore for a while. Grammie suggested we load up and take the kids for some shopping and to have lunch with him on Saturday. We didn't count on the frigid temps, but we still had a great time anyway. We ate at Mimi's Cafe and if you have one in your area, I highly recommend it. Quaint New Orleans decor and really good food. Today's photo totally captures a regular occurrence. Camden loves his Grammie, or Gee (think geese) as they call her these days, and he sure knows how to work her to get his way.

1.23.09

To say that Emma is a ham is an understatement. She's also a total girly girl who loves to diva it up. Heaven help us when she hits her teens!

1.22.09

Today was another 80 degree day...in January! We took full advantage and spent some of the warm afternoon outdoors. Once outside, you can bet that getting Camden to stand still is an impossibility. He is constantly moving and usually away from me and the camera as quickly as possible. Playing outside is one of the few times he won't sit still for a photo op which means a lot of blurry photos.

1.21.09

I have to confess that Wednesday was the first day that I didn't actively take a photo. As a matter of fact, I had pretty much forgotten about it until the kids were in the tub at our friend's house. They are always so cute together, but you'll notice that Emma is posing for the picture. That girl cracks me up!

1.20.09

Yes, I know I'm behind, but we've been busy bees around here. My 20th photo I didn't actually take, but since we so rarely get family photos I just had to post it. We spent Tuesday evening at a homecoming event for President Bush. We got to be on the tarmac when Air Force One landed and watched him and Laura get off the plane, then he spoke. They shook hands with some of the crowd and then they boarded Marine One for the last time and headed to their Crawford Ranch. Now, regardless of your political leaning, you have to admit that being that cool to Air Force One is way cool! :)

1.19.09

If there was ever a morning, I needed my cup of coffee it was today. Emma woke me up at 4:45, Khalil's alarm went off at 5:45 and then Camden was awake for good at 7. I struggled pretty hard all day even after making a pot of coffee through half-closed eyes. But, here it is, 10 p.m. and I've caught my second wind. Isn't that the way it usually works?

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday, dear Daddy! Happy Birthday to you! My husband of 7 years and father of our 2 children turned a whopping 37 today and Emma had big plans for helping him celebrate. Some of you may have seen this picture. The icing all over Camden's face is courtesy of Daddy. Emma hatched her plot to smoosh Daddy's face in his birthday cake that very same afternoon. What you see here is the fulfillment of a dream, the culmination of a month-long plan and well-kept secret, and a whole lot of fun!

Crystal
(thank you, girl!) was kind enough to give me a blog award and I will be back tomorrow tomorrow to pay it forward!

1.17.09 (a day late)

This household suffered from issues on Saturday. A clogged kitchen sink, a rusted pipe and seemingly no way for my sweet husband to fix them. In an effort to keep the rugrats out of his way, I took them to the park not too far from the house to let them burn off some energy. I got some really cool shots that show just how much they both LOVE the park. Camden loves the slides, any and all sizes of them, and acting like he's just as big of a big kid as all the other kids. Emma looks at it as an opportunity to socialize and make new friends. I give you Exhibit A.

Shhhhhh! Kota's sleeping! Kota the Triceratops is my companion as I scrap at night. He was Camden's big Santa gift and he is awesome! He's huge, sneezes, burbs, growls and purrs, but best of all he snores when he goes to sleep! So, Kota earns a spot on the P365 today.

1.15.09

I've had a very snotty nosed boy on my hands all week and I think it's finally catching up with him. After running around the house like a mad man all morning, he finally hit the wall after getting up from his nap and laid himself up on the couch. Let's hope the OTC medicine kicks in soon to help dry up his poor nose.

Oh and make sure you see my other blog for some fun digi news!

Week 2

Another week in the books! Here is my scrapped page for the second week. Again, I used Kristen's Project 365 kit and template. It makes it so easy!

week 2

1.14.09

So this afternoon about oh....an hour after lunch...Emma asks for a snack. She's watching Shark Tale and wants popcorn. Sure, sweetie! Mommy will make some. You have to understand that popcorn is my ultimate snack. I would so much rather have salty over sweet in the snack department any day. Just looking at this photo makes me want to go stick another bag in the microwave right now.

We had lunch with Grammie, or Gee, as she has come to be called at Logan's today. Yes, I carried my camera with me. I've got 2 pictures today. I just couldn't choose between these and the one of all three of them didn't turn out.

1.12.09

Today's photo makes me chuckle. Anyone who knows me knows that I really don't like our kitchen. It's my least favorite room of our house. Not because I don't like to cook or be in there. It's because it's small with limited counter space and not anywhere close to my dream kitchen. It's functional, but up until our mini-remodel last spring did I even like looking at it. Now, I can at least stand back and admire the Corian countertops, new cooktop and oven and my pride and joy, the refinished cabinets. I took this picture today because my kitchen was actually completely clean for a short time today. You've got to understand that this a rarity. With two kids, there is always some kind of dirty dish. It really is a HUGE improvement over what it was so I shouldn't complain. Now if we could just get someone to come and buy our house...
